The historic stages of this section describe
different of the history of Oman. They provide samples
of facts and events that happened in Oman or had Omani
people involved in them.
At the start of the 18th century, Oman spread its domination
to both the shores of the Arabian Gulf and the East
coast of Africa and established its powerful presence
in the Indian Ocean.
The city of Muscat was one of the most important harbours
of the world, thanks to its inhabitants' abilities in
trade and navigation.With mounting pressures from foreign
powers, the decline and division of Oman began and continued
until the beginning of the modern Renaissance in 1970
AD.
