The Sultanate
of Oman is blessed with geographical diversity, a
coastline that stretches for 3,165 kilometres including
islands and gulfs, and a land area of 309,500 square
kilometres, all of which have attracted travelers,
traders and immigrants throughout history.
Oman's geographical position forms a focal point of
contact with other nations and civilisations, and
enables the Omani people and their neighbours to shape
historical events in their region.
